KölnAn internationally operating technology company in the mobility sector is looking for an experienced Security Engineer (m/f/d) to provide project-based support under a service agreement. The focus is on strengthening client security, automating incident response processes, and further developing key security services in collaboration with international teams, including colleagues in India.
Start: ASAP
Duration: 3-6 months, with an option to extend
Remote/On-site: Remote within Europe
Workload: 100%
Language: Professional fluency in written and spoken English; the project language is English and regular communication with teams in India is required
YOUR CHALLENGE
Set up, configure, and further develop security tools for email security, access management, endpoint protection, and asset protection
Collaborate with the internal security team to integrate and optimize existing security solutions
Automate recurring incident response processes and security workflows using Python
Develop automations for phishing triage, secret rotation, and Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Graph-based processes
Support the analysis and handling of security incidents, particularly account compromise and phishing attacks
Analyse security-related service desk tickets and coordinate the required follow-up activities
Work closely with security, infrastructure, and software teams as well as technical and business stakeholders
Assess existing security measures and derive actionable improvements for detections, response runbooks, and security services
Document developed automations, processes, and recommendations to ensure sustainable use within the team
YOUR TALENTS
Must-Have
Several years of experience in client, endpoint, or corporate security
Very good knowledge of email security, phishing protection, access management, and endpoint protection
Solid practical experience in incident response and handling security-related service desk tickets
Strong Python skills, with a focus on clean, maintainable, and production-ready automation code
Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Graph, particularly in automating administrative and security-related processes
Practical experience with monitoring or SIEM solutions such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, or Datadog
Ability to systematically analyse existing security measures and derive actionable improvements
Strong communication and collaboration skills in international, interdisciplinary teams
Professional fluency in written and spoken English, with confidence in working regularly with teams in India
Nice-To-Have
Experience developing and maintaining incident response runbooks
Knowledge of secret management, detection engineering, or SOAR automation
